These girls are such troopers. It was a frigid, Fall day, and the wind chill on top of this hill didn't make it any easier. Despite the cold, we managed to find several giggles and laughs and I had a great time getting to know this sweet family.
How beautiful is this family?! This session was amazing. We didn't have a lot of time, but they all made it so easy for me. AND we got to take them at my favorite spot in Germany. Win-win. :)
I love taking photos of families. It's my absolute favorite- especially when that family means so much to me. I also love when I get to photograph families in their homes, or places that are very meaningful to them. It's a honor to be apart of the memories they'll take with them when they move. Love you guys!
It's hard to describe how much I love this family and how much I loved doing this session. Leigh and I had been talking about doing these photos on the Flightline for a long time, and I'm so glad we finally found the perfect night to do them. I love our military family!
I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this family's last night in Germany. I've often thought about how hard it will be to say goodbye to this beautiful place, but even harder than that is saying goodbye to all of the wonderful friends who have become like our family away from home. We miss you, Gage family!
I always feel so honored when I am asked to take photos for families. This was no exception. Nicole wanted to get some photos done of her family before they move away from Germany. I'm so glad we were able to work out a quick session at the Lichtenberg Castle. It was a perfect evening and the views always take my breath away. #lovegermany
It was almost impossible for me to pick my favorites from this session. It was so much fun to walk around my favorite places in Germany with this beautiful family and capture some memories of their time here before they move back to the States. So much love, laughter and beauty, all in one place :).
Happy Mother's Day to this wonderful new mother who is beautiful inside and out. Your sweet Sophia is so lucky to be coming to your family!
This girl is a DOLL. I was so excited when Emily asked me to take pictures for her one-year-old's cake smash. I've been wanting to photograph this girl ever since I first met her. I mean...look at those eyes!! We had so much fun watching her devour her cake. She was quite lady-like about it. :)
You know how sometimes you meet someone and you just instantly love them? That happened when I met this adorable couple for their maternity session. I don't think we went a minute without someone bursting into laughter, and I left this session feeling like I had genuinely made two new friends. You're going to be incredible parents to that sweet little girl! I can't wait to meet her!
Happy Baptism Day beautiful girl!
It was one of those days where the weather turned every 10 min. or so. I kept wondering if we should cancel as I watched the clouds roll in and out. But these cute kids were troopers! Even when I was ready to give up and call it quits after the rain poured on us for the first 20 min. of our session, we all just kept praying for the sun to come out...and miraculously it did! I had so much fun watching this family interact, play together, tickle each other and laugh. It makes me smile even as I sit here and edit. So. much. love. :)
This is one of those sessions that was in the works for months. We had to keep postponing it because of weather and schedules, but I'm so glad we finally worked it out before this wonderful family moves away from Germany. For the location, Kristin wanted to keep close to home, overlooking their village. I love that we were able to capture some memories here in a spot that means so much to them. Kristin, your family will be dearly missed. I am excited to see what adventures lie ahead for you.
We're going on a bear hunt.
We're going to catch a big one.
What a beautiful day!
I had so much fun photographing this family. It was the perfect type of session: we went on a walk, laughed and talked, paused for snacks, laughed some more, and captured moments in between. As I have been sitting here editing, I can't stop thinking about one of my favorite childhood books: "We're going on a bear hunt." On each page of the book, the family in the story has to make it through different obstacles in order to continue their hunt. Although they meet challenges along the way, they never give up, and their adventure continues. Tanae, who is an amazing photographer herself, inspires me with her love of the outdoors, her love of travel, and her love of adventure. But she inspires me most by her kindness, her desire to share her talents, and the way she travels through life's challenges with such beauty and grace. "What a beautiful day!"
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about how lucky I am to be living here. There is never a shortage of beautiful places to discover, landscapes to "ooh" and "ahh" over, and castles to explore. I was so excited when this mom contacted me about doing photos of her family. She mentioned she wanted to take them at one of the nearby castles, and I knew Lichtenberg Castle would be the perfect spot. We were even lucky enough for the sun to peek through the clouds every now and then.
It's probably not hard to tell that this family is amazing! I just love every excuse I have to hang out with them. We lucked out with a perfect evening, filled with lots of summer sunlight. I am so glad I was able to help capture and observe these special moments with this family. It's pretty inspiring to see the unity and love they all share.
This girl has grown up living and breathing music. Even when I was pregnant with her, she used to kick like crazy when I would play in orchestra concerts. When she was just a few months old, she would lay for hours at a time listening and watching me teach lessons... without a peep. And when she was old enough to stand up, she used to beg to play her older brother's violin for her "practice" every day. She's only 2 so it's too early to really teach her how to hold the instrument (don't look too closely at her bow hold) but I just love that she loves "my violin"!
