Maui Hawaii: Wedding Photography

Well, let me just say that this post is image heavy!!!! Normally I get irritated by photographers that post the whole event of pics on the blog….it’s kind of like when you are watching movie previews and you think to yourself “well we dont have to go see the movie now” becuase they had shown every funny scene, and every good moment in the whole movie…..therefore why go pay to see it? ANY-HOO…. I think I kind of Owe it to everyone to post these WONDERFUL images from my Destination Wedding in Maui Hawaii, since I have asked/told everyone I know that I got to go to Maui! I was SOOOOOOO freaking excited!

Well, Let me tell you first off, Maui was NOTHING what my apparent vivid imagination thought it was going to be. In my Mind I had foliage like Jurassic park, and scenes from Baywatch Hawaii, and helicopter scenes from Magnum P.I. and clear blue water like the movie couples retreat… (You teeny boppers probably have NO CLUE, what tv shows I’m even talking about here) ANYWAYS, I’m sure that part of my issue is that we had a little less then 4 days from the time we left Redmond, til the time we got home so we did not have TONS of time to explore the other side of the island where I”m sure there are things like my imagination assumed there would be! I will do a different Blog post with my personal pics from Hawaii, but I want to make sure that this gets dedicated to Jake and Emily, who were the whole reason I was there in the first place! Thank you Jake and Emily for Allowing me to Capture your BEAUTIFUL day, and thanks to the Kaanapali Beach Club and the 4 season Resort and Spago ever single venue and restaurant made for an AWESOME backdrop for these Photos. Are you Ready?

Chinook Winds Casino Wedding

Oh July, you were a busy month! On the 23rd I got the Pleasure to photography the wedding of Dan and Emily at Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City Oregon. I had such a great time, and I think that Emily did a Fantastic Job planning their wedding, right down to the little details! Lately I feel so Lucky to get the brides that I’ve been getting becuase I’ve noticed they’re all just Happy people….I’m starting to believe that I attract happy people, YAY! Emily was so Fun on her Wedding day, she was not stressed at all……I think that is a GREAT sign when a bride can just enjoy the day and if little hiccups happen they can just let them roll of their backs, knowing that what is truly important on that day, is not that a flower was misplaced in the bouquet or that her hair was a little windblown by the time she got to the alter……it will all be OK!!! It was WINDY WINDY WINDY at the beach that day, but it was absolutely beautiful! I was hoping for cloudy but RIGHT when the ceremony started the sun SHONE down on us like never before, which was surely a blessing for the guests as it was COLD in that wind!!!! Chinook Winds Casino has a GREAT location to hold your ceremony, it is a HUGE grassy field in back of the Casino that overlooks the ocean. If it happens to Rain or be to Windy (It is the OREGON coast after all) there is a location inside JUST in case, but we were lucky enough to have a GREAT VIEW, and Emily Looked SO beautiful with her dress blowing in the wind!!!! So, SUDDENLY I’ve been getting a TON of phone calls from past clients and friends that go like this—–

Bride from 5 years ago “Jen, are you still doing weddings”?

ME: “Of Course, I LOVE WEDDINGS”

Bride from 5 years ago “Awesome, because my BFF is getting married in June, and I wanted to recommend you”

ME “SAAAAAAWEETTTTT” (I LOVE it when people recommend me to their friends)

OK, It’s true, I took almost everything to do with weddings off of my website- I still list my prices under the FAQ tab and my most recent pictures from weddings are in older blog posts….”WHY, you ask?”

Well, 3 years ago all I wanted to do was weddings…….it’s what is in my heart, I love the wedding day, I don’t get stressed out with the “Stress of a wedding” I like it actually. I truly feel like I make the day easier and more fun for brides….. BUT, at the same time I made HUGE personal sacrifices by being a wedding photographer for 2 summers in a row, and I just decided that my family is SUPER important especially right now, while my kiddos are still little, so I have focused on High School seniors, and children……..I still love weddings, BUT I just don’t strive to shoot 20 weddings in one summer anymore…….and YOU should be happy about that!!!!

I will ONLY take 3-5 weddings this summer depending on their dates.

My Basic Wedding Charge is $1000 That includes 5hours of photography and an online proofing gallery for you and all of your guests and relatives to order prints. To Reserve your date, a $500 non refundable retainer is due upon signing the photography contract, and the rest is due 30 days before the ceremony. I have add on’s like…. Extra hours, Albums, Prints, Photo Booth’s, ect. If you or your friend is planning their wedding, I would LOVE to meet with you and discuss your wedding day. Ah, as the Year comes to an End, I’m exhausted….. In the best way possible. I have worked hard this year and had a GREAT YEAR and I’ve taken some beautiful pictures. I have to toot my own horn a little and say I’m VERY VERY proud of myself. I have taken on A LOT this year and most of it has gone smoothly! I have learned some GREAT lessons in business and friendship, and trying to balance family with owning my own business. With that said I will be taking the rest of december and probably most of January off. During this time I will be working on reorganizing and restructuring my business to give all my loyal customers (THANK YOU) “MORE”- when you come to see me in the Spring and Summer. I’m so excited to show everyone all the “cooky” little ideas that my brain has been cooking up and just have not had time to execute!

With all that said, IF you are already on the books for a session, or I’m working on custom products for you, I’m Not Bailing on you, and I will be blogging along the way about what I’m up to

THE ONLY EXCEPTION I will be making in my time off, is for little TINY newborns!!! Those newborns just cant wait to be photographed. ON THAT SAME NOTE- I’m wanting to update my newborn portfolio and will be offering a limited amount of FREE sessions for newborns so if you will have a Newbie and are willing to come in during the first week of your babies arrival, I would LOVE you to get in contact with me!!!! It’s very possible that I will be offering some more “modeling” sessions as I work on my new Marketing Campaign and will need some models!!! SO stay tune, and please add me as a friend on Facebook to keep up to the minute with me.

Wedding Photography: Tumalo State Park Bend Oregon

Sharon and Tim had a GREAT Ceremony at Tumalo State Park! I honestly wouldn’t have even thought about Tumalo State Park for a wedding, but it was AWESOME! I highly reccommend it! I was so EXCITED when the ceremony was about to begin, and the sky was SO pretty!!! YAY for clouds in Central Oregon…we hardly ever get pretty clouds, unless its raining! Here are a few of my Favorite pictures from the day!

A House Divided-Bend Oregon

CONGRATS TO BRIAN AND COURTNEY KIPP!!!!! How exciting! The Day was great! It got a little windy in the afternoon, but we were able to pull off some AWESOME PICTURES! Brian is a Hardcore Oregon Duck (way to go, i’m a former duck), and Courtney is a Hardcore OSU Beaver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT regardless of the Ducks and Beaver issue….they STILL fell madly in LOVE!!!! I would LOVE to sit with Brian during a Civil War game…..(hahahahaha, just kiddin Courtney) ANY-Hoo the day was nothing less the FABOULOUS Courtney looked Awesome and Brian Looked Great, and the party they threw was AWESOME!
