Love your site! I do the freezer meals...three months at a time and it's easy after a few years! Seriously, it takes awhile to do a lot but just start with one dish you like and make three of them. If you were to try the 30 meals in a day that you see a lot, you will go crazy, I did!

You can use our own receipes (I do) but there are some things that freeze and other foods that you dont freezer. Most of what I do is asssemble most of the meal and then finish it the night we cook it. For example - chicken noodle/rice soup, shepards pie and pot pie all have the same items. I mix them together (keeping the frozen veggies frozen) and then when it's time to eat, add spices and do to it whatever you want it for and add pasta/rice or the top to the pie.

There is an awesome book called More Mary, less Martha. It changed my life - it's at the library : )

i normally will write out a meal plan for a 2 week period, while i am doing that, i make my grocery list to go with whats on my menu then shop for the 2 weeks. i get tons of ideas from Pinterest and all recipes, both great ideas. i also have several "go to" meals that are ones that i always have stuff on hand to make like spaghetti, tacos, lasagna, burritos, easy stuff like that. sometimes i will make extra of things like sauces for spagetti, or soup and freeze half of it. to make things healthier, i also "hide" many veggies buy shredding them so colton doesnt know that its in the meal. what are the kids allergic to? i forget... i can send you a list of some easy stuff to make, i love one pot type meals too. i try to stay away from "boxed" meals as much as i can but every once in a while when my pantry is bare thats what they get :) but i do have recipes for homemade "hamburger helper" its much better for you and very easy to make.......

Ok, so what I do for my family is make a menu. I copy the month out of the calender and plan a week at a time. I stick it on the fridge so when an idea comes to me for the next week, I can just stick it up there. I then make my grocery list from this. It helps me save money at the grocery store because I actually have a plan and we save money because we are not compelled to go out to dinner because we don't know what to make for dinner. It also keeps it simple for the morning when I am trying to get Kinz out the door and me to work on time because I don't have to think about what is for dinner. I can just look and see what I need to get out, chicken, hamburger, etc. I also remember to keep it flexible, if I look at the menu and think the dinner I have planned does not sound good, I look later in the week and see if something else sounds better. I also keep in mind when I plan the nights I know I am busier and plan simpler meals for those nights. I also make sure we either have salad or a vegi with every dinner! Frozen vegis' are great in the winter. They are on sale a lot and are simple to make. Just steam them and they are ready, and you can keep them a little crunchier if you want, or softer. We give ourselves one night a week that we do not cook. We either go out or get pizza or something. I like the campbells.com website a lot too. They have a ton of recepies that are simple and quick. And, having a bit of super women in you is helpful. :)

While my mom does super at home-cooked meals, she also finds a lot of natural, prepared food at Costco, Trader Joes, etc. The best kind are the ones that you can just cook however much you need (frozen, individually wrapped fish is a favorite). Also homemade pizza. We usually make our own crust but you can buy some pretty good ones. We enjoy garlic chicken with white sauce and spinach, artichoke hearts, olives, etc. Start to finish about 30+minutes. For breakfast there's a really good recipe for crockpot oatmeal that has chunks of apples and cinnamon. You prepare it the night before and let it cook on low all night. It's ready in the morning....and stays hot even if you don't all eat at once. :) Just a few ideas.....

....And yes, my mom does have super-woman powers. All moms do. You just maybe don't see it in yourself, but it's there. ;)
