What a Nice New Year :)

MAN O MAN!!! By the time Christmas is over every year I’m SO exhausted! I had such a great Christmas this year, had TONS of photo sessions, some last minute Seniors, Some AWESOME families! I have to say that I LOVED my clients in 2011, I think I have FINALLY hit the place in my business where my clients and I are all on the same page :) YAY!!!! I had the Best Families for Christmas Sessions, I felt that they all had a “story” and were all really grateful to have their pictures taken, and make a little bit of history to pass on to future generations, I LOVE THAT!!!

I have some great things in the works for 2012 and I’m SOOOOOO excited AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (thats me screaming outloud) I have 3 big things in the works that I can not wait to announce!!!! One has to do with my Senior Sessions and the other have to do with my business in general YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Every Year I’m closed in January due to just needing a break! I’m kind of thinking of extending this thru Feb as well this year just because my family didn’t get me a lot thru the Holidays and they miss me :) Honestly I miss being a mom too….so I need to devote some more time to them and just “being there” So for January and Feb (unless I do a Valentines mini” I will be closed ……. WAIT WHAT DID YOU SAY?  “JEN, I have a gift card that I need to use” or JEN, I just had a baby and have to have newborn pics” CALL ME 541-350-6544 or email me jenniferlewisphotography@gmail.com and I will get you scheduled it’s not like I’m out of commission, just need a small break :) If you have some reason that just can not wait for pics, PLEASE call, it’s really ok :)

ALSO, while I’m at it……Do you know a Junior in High School this year and a Senior next year?? I’m looking for some great Reps from ALL the Local schoools! Bend High, Mt view, Summit,  Redmond High Schools, Sisters High, Priveville, ect…… If you know someone who is a good match (outgoing, friendly, preferable a good student) please have them contact me! It’s a great way to earn your senior pics for FREE!!!!

Scholastic Art Awards

Last year I was SO excited to be a part of the Scholastic Art Awards! I had never heard of it so when I got the call and learned all about it, I was even MORE excited!! I have been asked again this year to join the team of Judges and I couldn’t be happier!!! I really believe this is just an awesome program with such great potential for scholarships and just the process of judging and how to display your art work for esthetics. You can look back in the Archives for the pics I took, but seriously I was BLOWN away by what these “kids” do….some of the drawings could have been photographs! The jewelry, the ceramics, the leather work, it all REALLY inspired me! I’m so excited because many of the Seniors that I photographed this year have been EXTREMELY talented in all different forms of art, so I’m really excited for them to enter their artwork!!! SO if you have questions or know someone that is in 7th-12th grade and they are NOT entering their work in this show, PLEASE have them get ahold of me ASAP the deadline is this Friday to have the paperwork all filled out!!!!! Meet Marissa! She is a 2012 Senior at Redmond High. We had such a good time taking these pics, we had a bit of a challenge the first go around because her face decided it was going to become paralyzed on the very same day her first senior shoot was scheduled for…it was nothing serious but it lasted for almost 3 weeks….I felt SO bad for her. So I was happy to she had a fully functioning smile for this go around. OK, seriously, I’m so jealous of all these girls hair. Marissa you have BEAUTIFUL hair{so, so jealous} Enjoy :0

*Session: Includes my time and all my creativity and experience that will make you look your best

*Professional Photo Retouching- Yep! I do not charge you extra if a little pimple pops up, I automatically make your skin look flawless!!!

*Online Proofing- short on time? No biggie, once your pictures are ready to view you have 30 days to Order them FROM YOUR OWN HOME!!! I do not want to take up your whole summer!!!

Having you come to my studio for an initial consultation, then the shoot, then a viewing session, then a high pressure sales session– NOPE not me…not gonna happen!!!

You can sit down in front of your computer with mom, dad, grandma, grandpa and whoever else you want to, OH WHATS THAT YOU SAY??? Grandma and Grandpa don’t live here…

That’s OK-send them the link to your proofs and they can view them from THEIR home too!!! (They can even order their own prints saving mom and dad some money)

Book Your Appt (click APPT) !!!! Do it soon, July and August Sessions Book up Fast!!!

The $175 session fee is due when you book your appt! And your appt will not be held until you pay the session fee!

When you are booking you session think about the LIGHT!!! The LATER you can book your session (about 2 hours before sunset)  the better….if those are already book, book in the early morning,  Noon/1ish are the worst times, but still do-able if thats what is needed!!!

GO SHOPPING! Nah, just kidding!!! I suggest you bring about 3 outfits, Girls think about details, shoes, bracelets, scarves, earrings, necklaces,  etc….it all counts!!!

Meet “Sis”! Last time I seen Sis I SWEAR she was 6years old…..can it be? ANYWAYS, Sis and her mama were down from Alaska visiting family, and since she is a senior this year we took the opportunity for a quick little senior session!!! How fun! It happened to be a nice day and it all worked out good!!! Here are a few pics from the day ;) ENJOY! Senior Pictures Redmond Oregon

You know what another reason is that I LOVE my job as a photographer (as if I haven’t listed enough reasons in the past) BUT I’m a total people person, I LOVE meeting all these new customers, and it’s nice living in a small town I run into them quite often. This here is Amber, she is a Senior this year at Sister High School, and I hear she is a Dang good Softball player! I loved taking pics of Amber. She was Fun, and she brought her lil sister along,  and It kind of gave me hope….why? Because they like each other! My kids 7 and 5 fight like cats and dogs, seriously sometimes I think they’re going to kill each other. NOW I’m sure Amber’s mom Margie probably has stories she can tell me about these 2, but they seemed like they really are BFF’s…..but what do I know? HA! Amber your Pictures turned out WONDERFUL!!!!!

Jen is OUT!!!!!!!!!

Ah, as the Year comes to an End, I’m exhausted….. In the best way possible. I have worked hard this year and had a GREAT YEAR and I’ve taken some beautiful pictures. I have to toot my own horn a little and say I’m VERY VERY proud of myself. I have taken on  A LOT this year and most of it has gone smoothly! I have learned some GREAT lessons in business and friendship, and trying to balance family with owning my own business. With that said I will be taking the rest of december and probably most of January off. During this time I will be working on reorganizing and restructuring my business to give all my loyal customers (THANK YOU)  “MORE”- when you come to see me in the Spring and Summer. I’m so excited to show everyone all the “cooky” little ideas that my brain has been cooking up and just have not had time to execute!

With all that said, IF you are already on the books for a session, or I’m working on custom products for you, I’m Not Bailing on you, and I will be blogging along the way about what I’m up to :)

THE ONLY EXCEPTION I will be making in my time off, is for little TINY newborns!!! Those newborns just cant wait to be photographed. ON THAT SAME NOTE- I’m wanting to update my newborn portfolio and will be offering a limited amount of FREE sessions for newborns so if you will have a Newbie and are willing to come in during the first week of your babies arrival, I would LOVE you to get in contact with me!!!! It’s very possible that I will be offering some more “modeling” sessions as I work on my new Marketing Campaign and will need some models!!! SO stay tune, and please add me as a friend on Facebook to keep up to the minute with me.

AMBER-Redmond Oregon Senior

It’s kinda like I wanna singa song…OH OH IT’S AMBER……but I think it’s OH OH IT’S MAGIC…..HAHAHAHAA- OK seriously I love LOVE this girls hair…..I need to take Curly Hair 101 from her……I’m pretty sure they were probably sick of me telling them that by the time the shoot was over….but why is my hair frizzy, and her hair is pretty and curly?…..there I go with my jealousy thing again…..HAHAHAHAHA

AMBER, is a 2011 Senior at Redmond High! LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics we got with the flowers! LOVE the colors!!! These Flowers will not last forever so If you are interested in having these pretty flowers in your pics, you better go here and make your appointment as soon as you can! ENJOY!

OH AND BTW-there was an AWEFULL thunder/lightning storm happening during these pics, but we got great pics! HEY, a little rain and lightning didn’t hurt us……..
